DVD+R DL dual layer DVD duplication is allowing longer digital video and data to be duplicated! Dual layer DVD (DVD+R9) technology first came about in 2003, it than was released in 2004.

Now what makes a dual layer DVD duplication different? You see, with single layer discs, you’re limited to 4.7 gigs. With dual layered discs, you can duplicate up to 8.5 gigs. What makes this really cool is the fact that the disc is the same thickness, and you also can print on full color on one side. You double the capacity of the DVD disc with dual layer technology

A little duplication confusion from time-to-time causes customers to ask “which version right for me +R (plus), or –R (dash)?” With dual layer DVD the +R (plus) format is the more popular version, whereas with single layer DVD, the –R (dash) format is the more popular version.

Given that the dual layer recording layers are not obviously continuous , there sometimes can be a tiny delay when you transition from the first DVD layer to the second DVD layer. This tiny pause is completely normal and does not mean that the disc is not working. The laser that reads and writes the data will actually focus on the different layers and that is what causes the delay. Most packaging will explain this upfront, but it is so fast you most always never see it.

We use replication process when your project exceeds 500 or 1000 pieces and you’re not in a rush. Replication is discs stamped from a glass master. Once we receive your master disc or files we create a glass master. The glass master is used as a mold to create an exact replica of your master disc. The glass master will be placed in an injection-molding disc stamper. The process involves injecting melted plastic onto the master mold to form the disc. After this step the disc is clear; we then apply a thin layer of metal to provide the reflectivity needed for CD and DVD players to read. The metal layer is coated with lacquer and UV cured for protection. The disc is now replicated and playable. The disc face will now be offset printed and packaged to meet your needs. Advantage of replication is price. It is much cheaper to replicate a large quantity of discs. Typical turn time is about 7 days.

What is CD Duplication or DVD Duplication?

We use duplication process when you need discs in small quantities of up to 1000 pieces or in a rush. On occasion to meet the clients needs for 2000-3000 using duplication because they need them in a day or two. We duplicate your disc directly from your supplied master or files. Each duplication will exactly match the digital information you burned onto the disc. We place your master in one of our Rimage systems. Each disc is burned and printed one at a time onto a preformed disk. The thermal print on your CD DVD is the best quality print on the market today.
